Prometheus Exporters setup

The Prometheus Exporters setup for NeuReality must be performed once by your cluster administrator. You may skip this page if you are not a cluster administrator.

  1. Disable the built-in node exporter inside NR1™:

    $ systemctl stop node_exporter
    $ systemctl disable node_exporter

  2. Configure the Prometheus Node Exporter to read metrics in text from /root/run/log/node-exporter. To do this, add the following collector arguments to the arguments to node-exporter container of the Prometheus Node Exporter DaemonSet:

      --collector.disable-defaults
      --collector.arp
      --collector.bcache
      --collector.conntrack
      --collector.cpu
      --collector.cpufreq
      --collector.diskstats
      --collector.edac
      --collector.fibrechannel
      --collector.filefd
      --collector.filesystem
      --collector.hwmon
      --collector.infiniband
      --collector.ipvs
      --collector.loadavg
      --collector.meminfo
      --collector.netclass
      --collector.netdev
      --collector.netstat
      --collector.nvme
      --collector.powersupplyclass
      --collector.sockstat
      --collector.softnet
      --collector.stat
      --collector.textfile
      --collector.textfile.directory=/host/root/run/log/node-exporter
      --collector.thermal_zone
      --collector.udp_queues
      --collector.vmstat

  3. Configure kube-state-metrics to export neureality.ai/cg-id annotation from the pods. To do this, add the --metric-annotations-allowlist=pods=[neureality.ai/cg-id] argument to the list of arguments for the kube-state-metrics container of kube-state-metrics Deployment.
